A fire-resistance period alone does not define the finished coating scope. The work package needs the project fire strategy, steel/member information, the selected approved system and any issued member schedule. Those inputs remain the responsibility of the appropriate project design and product-system parties; they let an application contractor plan the work without assumptions.

Member geometry and substrate readiness shape the practical application route.
Section factor, member type, limiting temperature, exposure and tested system data can affect the specified coating build. At site level, primer identity, contamination, corrosion, retained coatings and local damage also determine whether steel is ready for application or needs preparation first.
Access and interfaces are planned before the workface is released.
Connections, secondary steel, brackets, stiffeners and congested junctions can require different reach, spray angles and local detail work. The planning review also considers platform positions, masking, segregation, material movement, follow-on trades and areas that must remain uncoated.
Choose the delivery route that matches the actual steel.
New or accepted compatible-primed steel may suit a standalone application route. Existing, damaged or uncertain steel may need a combined preparation-and-coating route. The proposal should make those acceptance boundaries visible rather than treating every frame as interchangeable.
