Where existing steel needs cleaning before fire-protection coating, Premier Blasting can take responsibility from abrasive preparation through to the specified finish.
Preparation creates the foundation for the coating system.
We use iron-silicate abrasive media to remove rust, mill scale and unsuitable existing coatings. Where Sa 2.5 is specified, the cleaned steel is inspected before the next coat is introduced.

It is an expendable mineral abrasive suited to removing corrosion and existing coatings from structural steel. The exact media and method are selected against substrate condition, containment and the specified preparation standard.
02Can you confirm the required coating thickness from the fire rating alone?
No. The required build is system- and section-specific. We work from the approved product schedule, steel information, required resistance period and project specification.
